The Big Question

Two mice, two philosophies. The Logitech MX Master 4 is the productivity mouse — ergonomic, feature-rich, built for eight-hour workdays. The Razer Viper V3 Pro is the gaming mouse — ultralight, flawless-sensor, built for flick shots. They’re each best-in-class at opposite things, so the “better” mouse is simply the one that matches what you do. Here’s the head-to-head.

Performance Comparison

For gaming, the Razer Viper V3 Pro is in another league. At 54g it’s ultralight, the Focus Pro 35K sensor is flawless, and the slim ambidextrous shape suits every grip style. It’s built for fast, precise aiming — exactly what a productivity mouse isn’t.

For productivity, the MX Master 4 dominates. The sculpted ergonomic shape supports your hand all day, the MagSpeed scroll wheel auto-shifts between ratchet and free-spin (genuinely useful for long documents), and Logitech Flow lets you control multiple computers seamlessly. The Viper can’t touch any of this.

Ergonomics & Comfort

Different goals. The MX Master 4 is the more comfortable mouse for long work sessions — its weight and shape reduce strain over hours. The Viper is comfortable too, but it’s optimized for quick movement, not all-day palm resting; some find it too light/low for 8-hour office use.

Features

The MX Master 4 is the feature champion: customizable buttons, gesture controls, app-specific profiles, horizontal scroll, multi-device Flow. The Viper is deliberately minimal — a few buttons, no frippery — because gamers want nothing between them and the game.

Value Comparison

The MX Master 4 at $99 is excellent value for a premium productivity mouse. The Viper V3 Pro at $159 is pricier, but competitive gamers consider it worth every cent for the sensor and weight. Neither is overpriced for its category; you’re paying for different things.

The Verdict

Tie — they don’t overlap. The Logitech MX Master 4 is the best productivity mouse and the clear pick for office work, creative apps, and multi-device setups. The Razer Viper V3 Pro is the best gaming mouse and the clear pick for competitive and fast-paced gaming. We scored the Viper 9.6 and the MX Master 9.0, but those scores are within their categories — buy the one for your primary activity. (If you do both heavily, many creators genuinely keep one of each on the desk.)
