How We Test
Our laboratory protocols combine industry-standard synthetic benchmarks with repeatable real-world stress tests.
Standardized Framework (v1.0)
All hardware reviewed under Methodology v1.0 undergoes testing in a climate-controlled environment (21°C / 70°F) using calibrated measurement instruments. Tests are repeated three times to eliminate statistical outliers.
Laptops & AI PCs
- CPU/GPU Benchmarks: Cinebench 2024 (10-min loop), Geekbench 6, 3DMark Time Spy / Steel Nomad.
- NPU & AI Inference: UL Procyon AI Computer Vision Benchmark, LM Studio (Llama-3-8B tokens/sec).
- Display: X-Rite i1Display Pro colorimeter (sRGB, DCI-P3 gamut coverage, peak nits, delta-E).
- Battery: Standardized web script execution at calibrated 200 nits display brightness.
Audio & ANC Gear
- Acoustic Response: MiniDSP EARS measurement rig with REW (Room EQ Wizard) frequency curves.
- ANC Attenuation: Calibrated pink noise playback at 80dB SPL to measure decibel attenuation.
- Microphone: Anechoic voice recording comparison against Shure SM7B reference mic.
